So the highlights of the week
are...

Monday - Oh, Canada! We had a
party in the evening and surprised Jamie with his first ever Canadian
Thanksgiving Day in Nicaragua. It was such a fun time, and it rained
all night.
Tuesday - We headed to the
orphanage to teach English, and I again was reminded of how teaching
is NOT my gift. Our laundry machine broke, also. Then it rained.
Wednesday - In the afternoon, one
of the other girls and I went to the convent (well, a convent turned museum; not just a place to be quiet and relax) and got a chance to mentally recharge. And it rained.
Thursday - Four of us walked ..
through the rain .. to get to the feeding program at Colegio San
Antonio, which ended up being canceled. Carmen (the cook) told us to
come back the next day.
Friday - We went to the orphanage
and hung out with the kids again (I took my camera this time, see
below). On the way, we stopped by the school to find out if we were
needed for the feeding program. It was canceled again.. because of
the rain.
(Are you noticing a theme here?
Maybe something about rain? Yeah, I noticed that, too! I'm enjoying it while it lasts, though, because after this month, I am told that there will be NO rain until well after I leave in May.)

Meet two of the girls from the
orphanage. Between the toddler-mumbling and the Spanish, I wasn't
really able to make our their names, but they're pretty precious
anyway. And God loves them.

Monday and Tuesday I was needed in the ESL class and couldn't find Lizet or Lilah after that, so I'm still waiting on conversations there. However, I was able to talk to Natalia more yesterday (Friday) afternoon and I really enjoy getting to know her! She has such a sweet personality, and like anyone, has her struggles and fears to deal with. Though I can not give her advice on all areas of life, I hope that in a small way I can encourage her to just keep seeking God and waiting on Him.
One super-exciting thing that I get to share with you all is that Mario has completely committed his life to Christ! Woohoo! What a blessing to see God working in his life and I can't wait to see him growing more and more both in his knowledge of Christ and his love for those around him. Already his family is noticing a change in his life because of the Christian influence around him! What a testimony to God's never-ending love and drawing of people toward Himself!
That's about it this week as far as an update for you all. I pray for you often and miss you much! If there's anything you want to know about life/ministry down here, please let me know and I will put it in my blog or in a comment to you.
(Speaking of comments, I love them, so keep on writing them!)
