(Trying this again.. my apologies if you only received the title the first time around.. I'm not sure what happened but I'm hoping that reposting will solve the problem.)
I like fire. I like burning things, I
like seeing the rhythm of the smoke as it rises, and I love how the
intense heat will either change one thing into another (wood into
ashes, styrofoam into pollution...), or remove imperfections (like
precious metals being refined). Now the theme of fire carries
oh-so-nicely into illustrations for the Christian life, and I love
just about all the ones I've heard. So when first heard this song
(Set The World On Fire, by Brit Nichols) on the radio last winter, I made it a
prayer for Nica '08-'09.

I want to set the world on
fire
fire
Until it's burning bright for You
It's everything that I desire
Can I be the one you use?
I, I am small but
You, You are big enough
I, I am weak but
You, You are strong enough
To take my dreams
Come and give them wings
Lord, with You
There's nothing I cannot do.
I was driving home from work the other
day and kept thinking "Why me, God? Why would you choose to use
me, with all my flaws, to bring Your light to others? What did I do
to deserve such a blessing?" That song came on the radio again
(oh, the timing of God!) and it brought such a sense of wonder to my mind. God loves me and gave me the desire for this trip because it was HIS desire first. And He is fulfilling that desire, that prayer that I prayed on first hearing the song. Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Truly the goodness of God is drawing me closer to Him!

My hands, my feet, my
everything
everything
My love, my life, Lord use me.
I'm gonna set the world on fire.
